“Flight – 172″ takes off for a cause

VCD/DVD of ‘Flight 172’ launched!

It’s 35 years since it hit the stage and has been performed more than 300 times. Yet, its appeal has not diminished a wee bit. Later in the 80s when it was adapted for the television, it continued to evoke the same kind of response from Tamils across the world. Flight 172, one of the most memorable comedies by writer-actor-director Moulee, has won several accolades. Though there were frequent appeals for a VCD version of the play, for some reason its author chose to defer the venture.

But now he has brought out the VCD/DVD versions of his trendsetting comedy in collaboration with Swathi Soft Solutions, a vibrant Chennai-based IT company for a cause. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the VCDs and DVDs of Flight 172 will go to Sri Matha Trust , an NGO that has been providing medicines, food and shelter to poor cancer patients.
