‘Gita Govindam’ – Audio CD Released on 15th August, 2006

On August 15, 2006 Swathi has brought out an audio CD ‘Gita Govindam’ on AshtaPadi which presents a delectable fare of love lyrics from Gita Govindam, the 12th century A.D musical play by Jayadeva. Despite contents that are outwardly erotic, Ashtapadis carry a very strong undercurrent of deepest philosophical truth. There are 6 tracks in this CD tuned by ‘Kalaimamani’ Dr. S.V. Ramanan and sung by none other than ‘Padmashri’ Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, the legendary Bharatanatyam danseuse.
