Jayaprada Ramamurthy

Jayaprada Ramamurthy, the renowned Indian Classical Bamboo Flute Artiste of Hyderabad, is the daughter of famed Indian Classical Musician Mrs.Prema Ramamurthy. She is the disciple of Flute Maestro Sangita Kalanidhi Padmasri Dr.N.Ramani (Chennai, India) & Sri. N.S.Srinivasan (Hyderabad, India). Within a short span of time Jayaprada has gained immense popularity as a Solo Flutist in India and Abroad. She is one among very few female flautists who perform Solo Flute Recitals in Indian Classical Music.

Jayaprada is a full time Musician and Director of Uttaraa Center for Performing Arts, Hyderabad, India. Jayaprada holds a Master’s Degree in Business and a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications.

Innovations In Flute: Jayaprada is the first ‘GIRL FLAUTIST’ from the state of Andhra Pradesh, who has performed as a SOLO FLUTIST, both at the National and at the International level. She has also been acclaimed as the first Flautist among women, to use the Base (Long) Flute and the ‘Western Key-Flute’ on the concert platform, for playing Carnatic Music, using transposed fingering technique.

Jayaprada has performed extensively in India and has toured several cities in the USA, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Bangladesh, and U.A.E. A memorable concert for Jayaprada was at the Tropical Hall Amsterdam in March 2004, where she received a standing ovation.
