Tallapaka Annamacharya (1408 - 1503) was the first composer who divided his compositions into Pallavi and Charanams. He was one of the
most profilic composers, Carnatic music has ever known with 32,000 sankeertanams to his credit of which only 14200 are available today.
He was a pioneer in various types of compositions and therefore rightly entitled 'Padakavita Pitamaha'. His compositions have been classified
into Spiritual and Sringara Sankeertanams. These compositions cover almost every aspect of the Tirumala temple and the surrounding area.
