Vaggeya Vaibhavam - Malladi Brothers - Srirama Prasad & Ravi Kumar
The Malladi Brothers namely Sreerama Prasad and Ravi Kumar hail from a family of illustrious musicians of Andhra Pradesh. Their
grandfather Sri Malladi Sreerama Murthy was a great musician and Harikatha exponent. They had their initial training under their father
Sri Malladi Suri Babu, a disciple of Sri Voleti Venkateswarulu and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri Nedunuri Krishnamurthy. Under the able
guidance of the latter, they were groomed into successful concert performers. They also had the privilege of training under Sangeetha
Kalanidhi Dr. Sripada Pinakapani, Guru of both Sri Nedunuri and Sri Voleti. Representing the inimitable 'Pani-Bani'(Pinakapani style)
Malladi Brothers are known for their perfect sruthi aligned renditions with profound commitment to classicism. Indeed they are among the
best and most sought after musicians today on account of their immaculate technique, deep knowledge and fertile creativity.
Besides possessing a rich repertoire of kritis of the Musical Trinity, Malladi Brothers have also specialized in Narayana Theertha
Tarangams, Annamacharya compositions, Padams, Javalis and other compositions. They have toured extensively all over India and abroad
enthralling their audiences. They are recipients of several prestigious awards including the Yuva Puraskar and Isai Peroli. They are 'A'
Grade artists of All India Radio.
The hallmark of this live concert is the majestic rendition of Muthuswamy Dikshithar's composition in Anandabhairavi, an infallible
Todi Alapana followed by a spectacular composition of Shyama Sastri and a breathtaking portrayal of the raga Bhageswari followed by a
soulful rendering of a Purandara Dasar Devarnama. A true treat for music lovers!
