This fabulous Live concert of Sikkil Gurucharan comes to you from the Maha Sivarathri Gananjali Music festival, annually held at the Chidambaram temple premises during the Maha Sivarathri by the Chidambaram Shri Sabapathy Sangeetha Gana Sabha, which organizes several memorable concerts. Musicians of high repute as well as upcoming musicians have performed some of their best concerts here. Sikkil Gurucharan is the first generation vocalist from an illustrious family of flautists (Padmasri, Sangita Kalanidhi Sikkil Sisters). His sonorous voice and a presentation method that adds glamour to the traditional way of singing has been applauded by critics and listeners alike.

The compositions presented by this young artist in this concert are some of the choicest that include a soul stirring Tevaram (Gnanathal), Edayya gathi, Kanakasabhai and Ardhanareeswaram, a rare Kriti of Dikshithar in the raga Kumudakriya. Excellent expositions of Mukhari and Shanmukhapriya are part of this superb concert. He has been ably supported by Madurai Balasubramaniam on the violin. Neyveli Narayana spectacular accompaniment on the Mridangam and his Tani are a treat the ears.
